When Patrick John Airheart was fired from the carnival for stealing, he knew deep down that he had been framed. For weeks, anger and determination boiled inside him. He waited a month, biding his time, and then returned with a plan.
Disguise was his weapon. He changed everything—his hairstyle was curled and dyed, his clothing completely different, his posture and mannerisms carefully rehearsed. He used makeup to darken his skin. Even his voice took on a new rhythm and tone. When he reapplied for a job, no one suspected that the stranger standing before them was the same man they had kicked out.
This time, Patrick vowed to stay vigilant. He would keep his eyes open, his ears sharp, and his guard high. Somewhere among the carnival’s lights, music, and painted smiles lurked the real thief. And Patrick John Airheart intended to catch them before they destroyed anyone else’s life.
